Grace comes with a long string of accolades, mostly recently named as WA World Music Act of The Year (2019), as well as WA World Music Act of Year (2020, 2021).
Drawing from the diverse cultural melange of her native Seychelles, Grace fuses the tropical rhythms and dances of the slaves with rock, afrobeat, reggae and pop.
This interactive workshop will have something for everyone and will simultaneously celebrate the launch into our new music space - a dedicated place for original music in the Mid West region.

About your host - Grace Barbé
Grace has been enticing audiences to get up and shake their coconuts since the release of her debut album Kreol Daughter in 2009, with appearances all over India and the Indian Ocean as well as at Australia's leading music festivals, including Womadelaide, WOMAD New Zealand, Byron Bay Bluesfest and Woodford Folk Festival.
Her band has been awarded "Best World Act" five years running in her current home state of Western Australia. Passionately committed to showcasing and developing the Kreol culture with which she is so deeply connected, Grace is touring her new album Welele! with a trio.
